The finance committee of the Atlanta City Council reviewed a proposed ten-year lease to American Express for a dedicated lounge space at the airport in June 2021.Īs part of the deal, Amex is responsible for building, constructing and maintaining the Centurion Lounge. While Amex is just now confirming the move, this Centurion Lounge has been in the works since (at least) the middle of last year. (Atlanta was temporarily unseated as the country’s busiest airport during the pandemic due to airline schedule adjustments.) But, kudos to Amex for making the space as large as it can to handle the crowds.
